Leyton
The painter Peter Coker, born 27th July 1926, whose father was a gold polisher and later manager of a confectionery warehouse, grew up at 1 Moyers Road, Leyton, and also lived there from 1950 when he was studying at the Royal College of Art. He took as one of his main subjects the meat on display at a Leytonstone butcher’s shop.
