Famous people who came from our area

The journalist Charles Eade was born on 10th June 1903, at 100 Grove Green Road (photo above left), the son of an auctioneer.  He became public relations adviser to Lord Mountbatten, supreme allied commander in south-east Asia, he edited printed collections of Churchill's speeches, and died in 1964 at his home, Bleak House, Broadstairs (photo above right, house on the hill).
