Government tells the public that it eats unhealthily, drinks too much alcohol, takes too little exercise, should abandon nicotine smoking, has long made other narcotic drugs illegal. This ‘nagging’ is surprisingly acceptable in the USA where government has always been disliked.
Government disapproval of smoking, because the habit increased the risk of lung cancer, heart disease and other health problems, resulted in smoking of tobacco being prohibited on buses and trains, and from July 2007 pubs, clubs and restaurants.
